The "Debtors' Relief Act" was an economic measure adopted in early January 1934 under the leadership of the People's Bloc government, headed by Prime Minister Nikola Mushanov. The Act aimed to save thousands of Bulgarian citizens - farmers and artisans alike - from mass bankruptcy during the Great Depression.
